The National Park «Parque Nacional de Aigüestortes y Lago de San Mauricio»

The only National Park in Catalonia, with the Pyrenees mountain scenery (the highest point in the park - Komaloforno peak, 3,029 m), 200 lakes, numerous streams, rivers, waterfalls, swamps, creeks and dams. In the waters of the park are found trout, brown frog, toad, Pyrenean newt. In rivers and streams live muskrat and otter. The name of the Park, "aigüestortes", is literally translated as "meandering water." The dense forests of blackpine, fir, pine, birch and beech are home to many plants and animals. The most common bird population - vultures that live on the mountain walls, caves and crevices. The park is set explanatory plaques, some 20 marked routes for the convenience of tourists, a permanent exhibition and a souvenir shop. The park area: 14,119 hectares.

Spring, summer, winter, fall .... at any time of the year the park is opened to you.
